Description

The Apex AP-5100T-MCL is a high-resolution, 3-CMOS RGB prism-based industrial area scan camera that delivers 3 × 5.1 megapixels at 51 frames per second.
Designed for applications where color precision is critical, it provides superior color fidelity and spatial resolution compared to traditional Bayer-based cameras. Ideal for demanding machine vision tasks—including display inspection, PCB, MLCC, and electronic component inspection, as well as food and pharmaceutical quality control, the AP-5100T-MCL ensures best-in-class color differentiation and image accuracy.

Using a special prism-based imaging technique, the incoming light is separated into red, green and blue wavelengths, captured by three precisely aligned CMOS sensors. The camera delivers images with better color accuracy and spatial precision than traditional color cameras using the Bayer mosaic technique.

The AP-5100T-MCL camera uses precision-engineered hard dichroic filters on the prism with steep spectral cutoffs to direct pure red, green, and blue wavelengths to the three dedicated sensors. This precise separation nearly eliminates color crosstalk, delivering truer, more saturated colors and revealing even the finest visual details.

The AP-5100T-MCL is built around three Pregius IMX548 backside illuminated sensors. Combined with a CoaXPress interface  this machine vision camera can output as much as 3 x 5.1 megapixels at 51 frames/second in full resolution, providing both color clarity and speed for demanding machine vision applications.
